How long does it take to open a bank account?It takes one business day.

Do I have to come in person to open a bank account?Not necesserily. You can delegate us or a person of your choice through a notary act, granting the persmission to open the account on your behalf. You should specify in the act any restrictions that applies, for instance, the individual is not allowed to withdraw funds.

Is there a minimum amount to be deposited?There is no minimum amount required. But you should deposite sufficient funds to cover the EUR 10 monthly fees for the online banking.

What is the minimum amount required to be granted a residence permit?If you open a personal account for the sake of obtaining a residence permit, you should deposit a minimum of EUR 5,000. You can withdraw or transfer the amount at any time.

How is the internet banking regulated?You can access the internet banking with the aid of a device which generates a unique passcode or you can use the credentials provided by the bank, depending on the bank of your choice. How can I qualify for a residence permit?In ordert to obtain a residence permit you have to incorporate a company in Kosovo and deposit a minimum of EUR 5,000 in a local personal bank account. You can transfer or withdraw the funds one you have obtain the permit. Furthermore, you should provide a Criminal Record Disclosure. In case some records are present, it is up to immigration officials to approve or reject your application, depending on the gravity of the offences.

How long does the permit last?The residence permit has the valid of one year and should be renewed 30 days before the expiry date. You can obtain a permenent residence after five years of continuos residence.

Do I have to be present to apply for a permit?Yes. Since the immigration officials need to see your passport, you have to apply in person. Secondly, once the permit is approved, you will have the show up in person to have a biometric picture taken.

How long does it take to obtain a permit?Normally the waiting period is of 30 days. Due to the covid pandemic delays can reach two months.

Can I apply for a permit while my passport is expiring?Although entry in Kosovo is permitted with a passport valid for at least 3 months, the immigration will not issue a one year permit for a passport that is valid for less than one year.

Is there a minimum amount of days I have to spend in Kosovo?If you intend to obtain a permanent residence after 5 years, you should spend a minimum of 180 days in the country. If you are not interested in the permanent residence, you can live abroad and apply for a new permit every year.

Should the document be apostilled and transalted in my home country?The documents to be submitted should be stamped by the Foreign Commonwealth Office or Ministry of Foreign Affairs or Prefettura, depending on the procedure your country is using to authenticate documents to be used abroad. Kosovo Embassy aspostille is NOT required. Documents will be translated into Albanian directly in Kosovo by an authorised translator.

Do I need a visa to travel to Kosovo?Most nationalities do not need a visa to travel to Kosovo. You will get 3 months on arrival, and you are allowed to stay 3 months in every 6 months. Can I travel during Covid?Yes. You can enter Kosovo with a valid PCR Test with a 72 hours validity or proof of vaccination.
